Is Mixing Two Different CBD Products a Good Idea?

With CBD being as popular as it is, a lot of people wanna make sure that they make the most of their daily routine.

One way that people try to maximize their potential results is by combining products – in other words, using two different CBD products at the same time.

As you know, unique CBD products can produce slightly different experiences.

So, is it okay to combine two different hemp goods at the same time?

As you’ll see, the answer isn’t as simple as you think.

Before we explain the various ways in which you can mix two CBD products together, we first want to remind you that CBD is considered nontoxic to humans.

This means that you don’t have to worry about a toxic overdose caused by taking two CBD products at the same time.

Why You May Want to Combine Two Different CBD Products

Why a Person May Want to Combine Two Different CBD Products

Before we discuss the factors that determine what can happen if you combine two different CBD products, let’s first examine the various reasons you may want to do this in the first place.

Reason #1: For a Stronger Experience Overall

You may want to have an extra potent experience with hemp for specific reasons.

Most often, it’s because you're trying to find relief from something specific and severe.

So, you may decide that the best way to have the most potent experience possible is to double up on products, hoping that each one boost’s the efficacy of the other.

Reason #2: To Tackle Two Different Issues

Another reason is because you may be trying to tackle two different issues at once.

For instance, you might apply a CBD topical to a localized area, while consuming an edible for something different entirely to experience full body relief.

Reason #3: To Increase the Likelihood of Finding Relief

You may want to double up on CBD goods because you are worried that one type of product might not be as effective as another.

By using two, you may feel that you are maximizing the chances of having the experience that you want.

Reason #4: To Experiment

Experimenting MCT Oil Tincture

Some people may simply wish to see what happens when they take two different products rather than one, due to the interesting synergistic properties of the compounds found in hemp.

For example, you could vape a CBD isolate product and then take a broad spectrum hemp extract gummy. Because when there is a presence of more than one cannabinoid, they work together synergistically to help enhance the benefits of each.

This is better known as the entourage effect!

Things to Consider Before Combining Two CBD Products

Now, let’s talk about the things that you must take into consideration before you combine two different products.

Factor #1: Types of Products

First, you have to consider the type of products you wish to use at the same time.

As you know, edibles, tinctures, topicals, vape oils and so on all have their different absorption rates.

These absorption rates determine how quickly you’ll feel the CBD, and how long the compounds will remain active in your body.

So, different types of products can “peak” at different times.

Factor #2: Milligram Strengths of Each

You also want to consider the milligram strengths of each product.

That’s because these milligram strengths largely determine how potent your CBD experience will be.

For instance, combining a 1mg edible with about 2mg worth of CBD vape juice will not give you much in terms of potency.

But, vaping 50mg of CBD and consuming a 33mg dose of a tincture may give you a far more potent experience.

Factor #3: Type of Extract

CBD Hemp Extract

You probably know that there are three types of hemp extracts, and they are CBD isolate, broad spectrum and full spectrum

Each type of extract has its own unique chemical composition, which means that it can produce different results.

When you combine two different types of extracts, you may have different results compared to combining two products that use the same type of hemp extract.

Now, there’s nothing wrong with combining two different types of extracts, so if this is the effect that you want, go for it.

Also, be aware that if a CBD product doesn’t clearly state which type of extract it contains, you can always contact the company and ask them or you could take a look at their 3rd party lab results that break down the potency of cannabinoids.

If they can’t answer your question, you should be wary of that particular brand and avoid their products altogether.

As here at Wellicy, all our hemp derived products clearly show whether a CBD isolate, full spectrum, or broad spectrum hemp extract is used.

We also take it a step further by adding QR codes on our product labels that link you directly to COA's.

Factor #4: Quality

Quality is of the upmost importance, when it comes to anything CBD-related.

This is because the industry is still pretty unregulated, and so there are a lot of low-quality products on the market.

Obviously, taking two low-quality CBD products at the same time is not worth the effort, as it’s likely that they aren’t potent enough to do what you want, even if you take large doses of each.

So, before mixing products, make sure that they are both high in quality so that you can have the best experience possible.

One way to ensure that each product is of a high quality is to check the company’s lab results that they post on their website.

These lab results come from a third-party laboratory, meaning that they are unbiased and accurate.

Factor #5: Timing Can Be Everything

Some people find that high doses of CBD make them feel a little bit sleepy.

If you’re doubling up on CBD goodies for the first time, you want to make sure that you’re doing so during a time when you have minimal responsibilities.

In other words, we don’t recommend taking large doses of two different types of CBD products right before work.

Taking two products shortly before bedtime may give you the desired results, while also ensuring that no matter how potent your experience ends up being, it won’t interfere with your daily routine in any way.

Combining Two Different CBD Products is More Common than You May Think

Because of CBD’s nontoxic nature, most people don’t worry about mixing two products at once.

Just use this guide to make sure that you go about it in the right way and consider every factor beforehand.
